My mother in law get the gift of labor every year. Living alone means you get to do everything your way. It also means you can't get anyone to do the heavy lifting.
We haul mulch, plants, rocks and other garden supplies to her house then spread, dig and push everything in place. Usually looks good for a year, then we do it all again.
